Friday Betting

lockup-tipster-badge

Just a quick update for Friday.

Recommended betting:

  • BATE Borisov 4/6 various
  • Gomel/Minsk – Over 2.5 goals – Against the grain as under is just 4/7. Minsk have only seen seven goals in six on the road. Gomel have seen nineteen in ten games and surely the tide will change soon enough. 5/4 in places
  • Bordeaux – French Cup – 20/19 Ladbrokes – Bordeaux won the first leg and will want to finish the job against a team finishing 15th in the league
  • Osters/Gothenburg – both to score 10/11 William Hill – Osters are struggling at the bottom of the league and have scored six goals in five home games. Gothenburg in five on the road have only scored seven but are riding high in second. Osters won a lot for people last season and can at least score!

Other tips:

  • Francesca Schiavone v Kirsten Flipkens – 3 sets 11/8 BetVictor (French Open Tennis) – The odds for this game are very tight and suggest either player will win it. The other will not let the other win without a fight and the odds are too short on two sets in the bookmakers opinion!
  • Robin Haase v Jerzy Janowicz over 3.5 sets & Under 12.5 Serena William games vs Sorana Cirstea – 21/20 Paddy Power
  • Tommy Haas v Jack Sock – Haas to win 3-0 11/10 Youwin
  • ACCA – Nadal and Gasquet to win 3-0 and Cilic – 20/21 Stan James

Happy betting.

England Vs Republic of Ireland – LIVE on ITV 19:45

lockup-tipster-badge

So England play another international, with a few players pulling out of the game. Republic of Ireland on the other hand, have the passion to get a result.

Best match odds:

  • England – 9/20 BetVictor
  • Draw – 7/2 Paddy Power
  • Ireland – 15/2 Stan James

The last time the pair tried to play, the game was abandoned on the 26 minute mark through crowd trouble. Ireland were the better team back in 1995 and remember the game, being an early teenager.

Looking at the OPTA facts and statistics, courtesy of optasports.com

  • Excluding penalty shootouts, England have suffered only one defeat in 15 games under Roy Hodgson. The last manager to lose just one of their first 15 games in charge of England was Graham Taylor (one defeat in first 23).
  • Ireland have failed to score in five of their last seven international away games.
  • Giovanni Trapattoni’s side have lost only one of their last nine international friendlies (W4 D4).
  • Under Trapattoni, the Republic of Ireland have suffered just two defeats in 22 international away games (W9 D11), with the two losses coming against Spain and Italy.
  • England’s recent record against the Republic of Ireland is poor, having drawn three and lost one of their last four meetings with them in international football (excl. the abandoned game in 1995).
  • The last three meetings between England and Ireland have all ended 1-1.
  • England’s last win against the Republic of Ireland came back in 1985 – a 2-1 win in a friendly at Wembley, thanks to goals from Trevor Steven and Gary Lineker.
  • The Three Lions have won seven of their last nine internationals against one of the home nations, with their two defeats during this run coming against Northern Ireland in 2005 and Scotland in 1999.
  • England have suffered three defeats in their 17 international friendly matches at the new Wembley Stadium – all coming against European sides (Germany, France and Netherlands).
  • However, the Three Lions have scored in every one of their 17 international friendlies at Wembley since it was rebuilt.
  • Wayne Rooney has scored in five successive England appearances and in six of his last seven.
  • Rooney now has 35 goals for England; the 5th highest goal scorer in England’s history and five goals away from Michael Owen in 4th (40 goals).

The Irish have a tendency for low scoring games, and keeping it tight. England have been totally overrated and under-priced compared to the passionate Irish. England players have not gelled as a team for a long time, a secret to success is unity and we do not personally see England as unified

Looking at the betting markets, Ireland are a massive 1746/1000 to draw or win. England are a great bet at 5/4 NOT to score in the first half with Coral. We expect England to be reciprocal and nominate Ireland to kick off first, given the opportunity, with Ladbrokes 10/11 obliging this.

England will be expected to win and the double result is too short at 13/10. We do like the 7/2 on offer for a half time England draw with a second half England win. As mentioned before Ireland often play out tight low scoring games with Bet365 being more realistic at evens for under 2.5 goals.

Recommended betting:

  • Under 2.5 goals – 1/1 Bet365, BetVictor and Skybet

Championship Play Off Final – Crystal Palace Vs Watford

lockup-tipster-badge

A massive game for both teams as their fete lyes in the hands of a single game.

Best match odds:

  • Watford – 7/5 888sport
  • Draw – 12/5 – General
  • Palace – 9/4 Betfred

Match facts courtesy of BBC sport:

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• The Championship Play-Off Final, billed as the richest club match in world football worth £120 million, is also the 110th meeting of Crystal Palace and Watford. Palace have won 44 of the previous 109 over 92 years, and Watford 40.

• It is their second clash in the play-offs, having faced each other in the Championship semi-finals in 2006, when Watford won 3-0 at Selhurst Park, and held out for a goalless draw in the second leg on their own ground.

• In this season’s league meetings, the Hornets came away from Palace odd goal in five victors in August, and shared four goals at Vicarage Road in February. The Eagles last beat Watford in February 2012, with a 4-0 league victory on their own ground.

Watford

• Gianfranco Zola’s side qualified for this final with a last ditch goal from Troy Deeney to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory over Leicester in the play-off semi-finals.

• Watford lost out on an automatic promotion place to Hull on the last day of the regular season, and ended third, two points outside the top two.

• The Hornets have won three of their last eight in all competitions.

• The Hertfordshire club have spent six seasons at Championship level, since relegation from the Premier League in 2007.

• They have experienced two one-season stays in the Premier League and gained entry on both occasions by winning the play-offs, beating Bolton 2-0 at the old Wembley in 1999 under Graham Taylor, and Leeds 3-0 at the Millennium Stadium in 2006 under Aidy Boothroyd.

• This is their fifth play-off campaign; all four previous participations have been at this level (12 matches played – W5, D3, L4).

• Watford (85) and Crystal Palace (73) were the highest scorers in the Championship this season.

• This is the Hornets’ first trip to the new Wembley, and Zola’s first taste of a play-off final.

Crystal Palace

• Ian Holloway’s club earned their place at Wembley after beating Brighton 2-0 in the second leg of the play-off semi-final at the Amex Stadium, having played out a goalless first leg on home soil.

• The Eagles qualified for the play-offs in fifth place – their highest finish in five seasons – two spots, four wins and five points inferior to Watford.

• They only managed one win in the last 10 matches of the regular season, but go into this Wembley showpiece unbeaten in six, having won two and drawn four since a 3-0 loss at Ipswich on 16 April.

• This is Palace’s 20th match and seventh play-off campaign (W9, D2, L8).

• Palace have been promoted to the top-flight via the play-offs on three occasions.

• In 1989, Steve Coppell’s side with Wright and Bright, beat Blackburn in the final over two legs, in 1997 under the same manager the Eagles beat Sheffield United 1-0 at the old Wembley with a goal from David Hopkin and in 2004, Iain Dowie’s team (20th on Boxing Day 2003) beat West Ham 1-0 at the Millennium Stadium for a most unexpected promotion when Neil Shipperley was on target.

• The south-east London outfit are hoping to return to the Premier League a record fifth time, after completing four one-season stays (1992/93, 1994/95, 1997/98 and 2004/05).

• This is the fifth play-off campaign of Ian Holloway’s managerial career.

• He famously took Blackpool up to the Premier League through them in May 2010, beating Cardiff 3-2 at the new Wembley. But Holloway failed to get Bristol Rovers past the semi-finals in 1998, and lost in the final with QPR at the Millennium Stadium in 2003 and again with Blackpool at Wembley in 2012.

What do we expect from the final?

Seeing as Palace took out Brighton and Watford are still fancied, it is Palace that come into the game as the form team, unbeaten in the last six. Watford are a tad short on price with Palace 5/4 for promotion via any method on Monday afternoon. This attracts seeing that boss Holloway has vast experiences playing these matches, with a club changing financial stake.

Both teams to net is 4/5 with 888sport with some firms as short as 8/13. Palace were awarded six corners in their last game and can match this again with Bet365 offering 8/11 on the outcome. Whether or not this takes your fancy, Palace scored more than one goal in twenty four of their forty six games and for them to achieve this again is 15/8 with Sportingbet.

Both games in the championship saw more than three goals, with the first seeing five and the other seeing four. Over 2.5 goals in the game is evens with Coral, which suits us!

Recommended betting:

  • Palace – Over 5.5 corners – 8/11 Bet365
  • Palace to net two or more goals – 15/8 Sportingbet
  • Over 2.5 goals – 1/1 Coral

PDC European Tour – 31st May

lockup-tipster-badge

An advance look at the next Darts European tour, starting friday 31st May. Sadly this event will not be televised in the UK, unless Eurosport bail us out again, although we believe this event to be a non-televised event.

Looking at the early prices, as we do not expect some to last. We are confident of the following making the last 16:

  • Pipe – number 10 seed and renound for his floor ability
  • Painter – A former major winner who is resilient
  • Kim Huybrechts – One of the hottest properties of 2012/13
  • Stuart Kellett – a quality player with plenty of experience

The four-fold pays 4.19 with Skybet!

A strong double:

  • Pipe/Huybrechts – 11/10 with Bwin

If total legs (over/under 9.5) are offered, consider:

  • Burnett/Henderson – 10/11 Paddy Power
  • White/Smith – No prices yet
  • Osborne/West – No prices yet

Best of luck

****Twopointfivetip.com**** tips for members:

  • Pipe/Huybrechts – 1.96 double, WAS 11/10 on Tuesday! Bwin
  • Burnett/Henderson – Over 9.5 legs – 10/11 Paddy Power
  • Baxter/Kellett – 20/21 Paddy Power (1.96)

Sunday Betting

DP

As the European season gradually draws to a close, a limited number of fixtures compile Sunday’s major league football. There is plenty of action around the world to bet on.

Firstly we head to the YB40 cricket, where Somerset aim to make it 4/4 taking out Leicestershire and should be in good stead to win. Leicester have a good opening partnership of Cobb and O’Brien and can make over 21 runs from the opening partnership at 5/6 with Skybet.

The Scottish cup final takes place, with Hibernian facing Celtic, with the favourites Celtic at 2/5 to win in 90 minutes, in the last five meetings, Celtic have won two, two draws and a defeat. Hibs are undefeated in the last five games and will be motivated for the game to cause an upset. Celtic will be expected to win, which should be better for Hibs with indicative pressure off them.

Paddy Power offer 10/11 for the first goal to occur after the 24th minute and with only one stalemate in six meetings, and the glory of the final, should bering us at least a single goal. Talking of goals, for over 2.5 goals in the game is short at 8/15, but we still think the time of first goal is the market to recommend.

  • 29/92 of Celtic goals have occurred before the 30th minute
  • 13/50 of Hibernian goals have occurred before the 30th minute

The percentage is on our side for this, and will be our Lockup Single of the day for Sunday

Huddersfield will be looking to make it twelve wins from sixteen games with a win versus Bradford in the super league. Bradford have only won once in the last three and play a Huddersfield lying in second and keeping pace at the top of the table.

Recommended betting:

  • Lockup Single of the day – Time of first goal in SFA final – after 24th minute 10/11 Paddy Power
  • Lockup “Daley” Double – Wins for Huddersfield in Super League and Somerset in YB40 pays 20/21 at Stan James
  • Leicestershire – Over 21.5 first wicket runs – 10/11 Skybet in the YB40

UEFA Champions League Final

lockup-tipster-badge

Bayern Munich host Dortmund in an all German final at Wembley with over 3.5 Million expected to be wagered on the game.

Best match odds:

  • Bayern – 4/5 Bet365
  • Draw – 16/5 Bwin
  • Dortmund – 19/5 Betfred

Looking firstly at the facts and statistics for the game:

Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund

  • This final will be the first all-German clash in a European Cup final. 2000 (Spain), 2003 (Italy) and 2008 (England) are the three previous occasions of teams from the country meeting in the Champions League final.
  • A German team is guaranteed to win the Champions League for a third time. Dortmund in 1997 and Bayern in 2001 were the previous winners.
  • Bayern Munich have lost three of the four finals they have played in. Borussia Dortmund were victorious in the only final they have played.
  • Only once before have two German teams met in the final of a European competition. In 1980, Eintracht Frankfurt won the UEFA Cup beating Borussia Mönchengladbach in the final (losing 2-3 away in the first leg before winning the second 1-0 at home). Gladbach coach back then was Jupp Heynckes, the current Bayern boss.
  • Dortmund are undefeated against Bayern in their last six league games (four wins, two draws). However, Munich are undefeated in four competitive games this season (two wins in the Super Cup and DFB-Pokal and two draws in the Bundesliga).
  • The last duel on neutral ground between Bayern and Dortmund was the 2012 DFB-Pokal final. Dortmund won 5-2.
  • Bayern won all four games in the Quarter Final and Semi Finals without conceding a goal (11-0 on aggregate). They are only the fifth team in Champions League history to not concede a goal in any of their four matches in these two rounds.
  • This is Jupp Heynckes’ third Champions League campaign as a coach. In all three seasons he has reached the final. In 1998 he won the trophy with Real Madrid and last year, he lost the final with Bayern Munich.
  • Bayern could become the first German team to win the Treble (league championship, domestic cup, and the Champions League or European Cup). Six clubs have managed it previously; with the last being Inter Milan in 2010.
  • Mario Götze will transfer to Bayern Munich this summer for a fee of 37 million euros. Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic had more assists in this Champions League campaign (7) than Götze (5).
  • Only Cristiano Ronaldo (12) has scored more goals in the Champions League this season than Robert Lewandowski (10). Bayern’s top scorer is Thomas Müller with eight.
  • Neven Subotic (133) and Mats Hummels (106) have been forced into making more clearances than any other players in the Champions League this season.
  • Javi Martinez has made 39 interceptions; more than any other player in the Champions League this season. Only Arturo Vidal (44) has made more tackles than Martinez’s midfield partner Bastian Schweinsteiger (43).
  • Six of the 10 goals Bayern have conceded in the competition this season have been scored in the final 15 minutes of their matches.
  • Bayern have scored more headed goals in the Champions League than any other side this season.
  • BVB have kept just three clean sheets in their last 12 European matches.
  • Just one of the last five Champions League finals has gone over 2.5 goals. However, that final was also played at Wembley (Barcelona 3-1 Manchester United in 2011).

In our opinion with the clean sheet record of Bayern conceding just eighteen goals all season versus the forty-two that Dormund conceded and a cracking bet for Bayern to win to nil at 5/1 with Boylesports, your stake can easily be covered across the spectrum.

We are going outright on Bayern, simply as they suffered heartache last season in the final and they will want to avoid lightening striking again

Recommendation:

  • Bayern Munich – 4/5 Bet365

Saturday Betting

DP

We return for this Saturday column after a few days away, and what a week we have had. On other columns in association with twopointfivetip.com, we have experienced some great results in the PDC Dubai Masters Darts. With the Champions League Final headlining the football action, firms are offering money back, if Bayern Munich fail to win.

There are a significant volume of football outside of the major European leagues, with action in America, (north and south), Japan to name a few. However, we head to Norway on this Saturday, where there are two games taking place.

First up are Molde who welcome Honefoss lying in 16th place, with the visitors in 10th. Bookies have Molde at just 7/15 at 188bet and 2/5 in other places. Molde with six points from the last eighteen welcome their opponents who have pocketed nine from the last eighteen. Honefoss have not been able to beat Molde in the last six mustering up just two score draws in the process. two of the six have been won by Molde to nil and the other 3-1 in Molde’s favour.

The bet here goes with the over/under 2.5 goals market. All of Molde’s games at home have gone over 2.5 goals, with the away team seeing three from six go over. The away team have kept tight scoring nine and conceding ten in six games, indicating slightly over three goals average. In five Molde home games they have only scored eight goals, but conceded twelve.

Over 2.5 is way too short at 1/2 despite the average for both teams, and this could well go in the favour of the under goals as both teams scoring has remained steady, but low. With William Hill betting 6/4 on under 2.5 goals, this must be a treat seeing the averages are just over three.

In the other game Valerenga host Rosenborg, where the home team have beaten Rosenborg once in the last six meetings and are 14/5 to create another upset against 1/1 Rosenborg with Coral. The away side are second in the league playing eleventh place Valerenga. Rosenborg have suffered just two defeats in the league, one at home, one away, with the home side with two defeats under their belt. At even money, Rosenborg are a good price at evens to maintain the early pace that Stromsgodset have set.

Recommendations:

  • Molde/Honefoss – Under 2.5 goals – 6/4 Hills
  • Rosenborg – 1/1 Coral
  • Bayern Munich – 4/5 Bet365
